The Church Mergers Group can be as involved and hands-on as you need.  From periodic telephone support throughout the merger/acquisition process to hands-on, on-site assistance, we are here to assist you.

We can advise or actually provide direct services for every aspect of the merger /acquisition.  Following are some of the key areas in which we can help:

  • Due diligence (legal, financial, real estate, facilities)
  • Proforma budgets based on your assumptions concerning expected attendance, giving patterns, operating costs, financing or mortgage costs (if any), start-up costs, etc.
  • Prepare a communications plan to educate your congregation, keep them up to date and generate support for the proposed transaction and to recruit a launch / relaunch team.  Elements of the plan might include:
    • written materials
    • periodic emails
    • social media and website /blog
    • presentations to those who want to learn about volunteer and leadership roles for the launch / relaunch
    • formal presentations to the congregation
  • Develop a special purpose website/blog specifically for the proposed merger/acquisition (example: www.IFeelCalled.org)
  • Set-up a FaceBook page for the proposed merger opportunity
  • Develop a letter-of-intent / memorandum-of-understanding between/among the churches the parties
  • Develop final legal documents for any or all aspects of the transaction
  • Perform title search on property and provide title insurance

NOTE: Some services, such as legal, title, real estate, etc. that require special licences are offered through their respective providers, however, as part of Fidia’s Church Merger Group, Fidia may coordinate and monitor their services on your behalf.
